Hot Apple Cider

This hot apple cider recipe is so simple, so yummy, and the best natural scent for your house over the holidays.

8 cups (2 L)  apple juice  – I use either natural or organic – both are made with the entire apple – peel and all and a healthier choice

6-8 whole cinnamon sticks, broken in half – I use 8 – I want a strong flavour

12-16 whole cloves – I use 12

pinch of fresh nutmeg

  1. Put all of the ingredients in a pot on the stove and simmer until hot.  OR heat it all in a crock-pot and let simmer all day. The longer it simmers the stronger the flavours.
  2. Stir and serve – tip – I don’t use cheesecloth to wrap the spices up in – I just pour the cider through a small sieve when I serve it.

Makes 8 cups (2 L) 1 cup = 1 serving
