If you saw a grown woman doing a *Happy Dance* at Loblaws last week, it was me. I had just discovered a line of local seasonal soups from Ontario’s Own in one of the large cold bunkers near the deli section of the store.
I picked their Tomato Soup, but I could have just as easily picked Chicken Noodle, Butternut Squash or Roasted Carrot.
Ontario’s Own is on a mission, a quiet one so far, because I hadn’t heard about them until last week. They want to “support Ontario’s family farms and local economies by sharing the joy of serving good food that’s close to home.” Insert me *Cheering*
Their products include sauces, purees, stocks as well as soups. All of their products are made without preservatives or additives, all you get is pure delicious real food flavours.
The tomato soup tasted like a burst of summer. Made with tomatoes, onions, celery, canola oil, garlic, salt, basil and spices, every spoonful made me smile.
Supporting our local farmers not only supports our local economies, it just tastes better.
